Anonymous submitted: Hi :) how would I write my name Ashlyn in Hangul? It's pronounced like Ashley, but just change the 'ley' to Lynn. I was confused as to if the L should be written as more of and R sound and whether there should be a U on the end. Sorry for the bother, your blog is Koala-tea btw :)

Hi, i did get your message but i’ve just got a lot to get through so sorry if this took a while -_-
Anyway, i hope this is okay. Names starting with A or that have main A sounds are a tiny bit of an issue for me lol. Just because in hangeul, most english words that are written in hangul seem to be written…in an american accent (please don’t kill me american followers).
Examples - even with idol group names:
- Big Bang - 빅뱅/ big baeng - but the way most british people pronounce it 빅방/ big bang
- Teen Top - 틴탑/ teen tap - the way most british people pronounce it 틴톱/ teen top
- Block B - 블락비/ beullak bi - the way most british people pronounce it 블록비/ beullok bi
I hope that (in any way) makes sense. My general point is, if you were/are british (like me) then Ashlyn would probably be written as 아쉴린/ ah-shi-lin rather than what i wrote above. :)
